Message from the School Council

A message from the School Council regarding next week.

Next Sunday, October 4th, Sioned Thomas, Glain Meilir (Year 1) and Huw's Mum (Reception) will be running half a marathon in Cardiff.

She will be raising money for the charity Tŷ Gobaith.

Active Journeys Programme Silver Award!

Good news!

We have received the Active Journeys Programme Silver Award!

A huge thank you to everyone for all their efforts in taking part in the activities throughout the year and in the various cycling, walking and scooting challenges held last year!

A special thank you to the Active Journeys Team and to Anti Sophie for organising all the events! Onwards and upwards towards Gold!

Thank you also to Owain Williams, Active Travel Officer at Walk Wheel Cycle Trust Wales for the certificates and prizes!

To raise awareness of mental health the school will be taking part in different activities throughout the week:

Monday - Cycling to school followed by visit from Dr Beic

Tuesday - Mindfulness activities

Wednesday - Assembly

Thurday - Running and walking the school's sport track

Friday - Wearing yellow

Show Your Stripes Day!

We are inviting all the children to wear anything with stripes on Thursday, September 24th to support Cancer Research Wales. Any contribution towards this worthwhile cause would be greatly appreciated.

Ger Siops Football Festival

Congratulations to the school's football team for taking part in the Ger Siops football festival yesterday in Penygroes. Everyone had a great time and tried their very best!

Spring Bulb Planting Competition

Congratulations to Glain and Nansi for winning the Spring bulb planting competition with Amgueddfa Cymru.

Glain's daffodil was the first to open on 23/02/26 and Nansi's Crocus was the first to open on 20/02/26. Well done for looking after them!

Welsh Language Music Day

The schools's Criw Cymraeg are eager to hold a Disco in the School Hall on Friday, February 13th 1:00-3:00pm to celebrate Welsh Music Day 2026. The children are welcome to wear colourful clothes to school on the day and there will be a drink and cake available to buy for a £1 also.

Wales Planting Day video creation competition

Congratulations to the Eco Council and Gors Goch class (Reception/Year 1) on winning the Wales Planting Day video creation competition, held by Museum Wales. Here’s a photo of a small group of them with their prize!

Pentreuchaf Chilcare Assessment Needs

Gwynedd Council are consulting to assess the childcare needs in the Pentreuchaf area. In order to assess the current need and see if this is being met we are conducting an online questionnaire from 1st December-15th December.

We would encourage all families and members of the local community to complete the questionnaire, and submit any comments, that will assist Gwynedd Council with this assessment. Childcare Needs Consultation

We are desperately in need of more parents to join our small group of Friends to be able to continue to offer rich experiences to our children.
